E-SMART® provides a simple, geo-rectified graphical user interface for monitoring and operational control. The sensor network can be overlaid onto maps and images for better situational perspective. With E-SMART®, all of the sensors on the network, NBC, cameras, perimeter defense, etc. are monitored and managed from a single interface.

Click-through technology is provided to allow for detailed sensor data to be accessed at the click of a button. No menu or other screen navigation is required. Standard Department of Defense Iconics are used to provide a consistent scheme for displaying sensor types and locations.

E-SMART® alarming logic is rules based and was designed with flexibility in mind. Regardless the application, the rules can be configured to meet the operational needs. Devices can be configured to alarm at the detection High, Mid, or Low levels of threat agent. In addition, maintenance alarms are available for informational purposes.

When alarms are received from the network the SiteMaster software looks up the rules for that device and executes the predefined activity. Whether this includes paging, faxing, e-mailing, or waiting for more information, E-SMART® executes the pre-defined response.

Entering these rules are as simple as defining a contact (name, e-mail, etc.) and associating that contact with an alarm level and a sensor. E-SMART® can be configured to require a “man-in-the-loop” prior to acting on an alarm from a sensor or to respond immediately. If the “man-in-the-loop” is required, E-SMART® provides for an override in the form of a “dead-man-timer”. If the user does not acknowledge the presence of an alarm condition within a configurable timeframe, E-SMART® can acknowledge the alarm automatically.

In addition to operational control of the E-SMART network, the SiteMaster software provides a higher-level display that integrates 3rd party systems and databases for a single view to an incident command center. Information from first responders such as police and fire departments, can be integrated onto a single display.

In addition to the integration of disparate data from 3rd party systems, SiteMaster supports the Hazard Prediction and Assessment Capability (HPAC) software which provides the means to accurately predict the effects of hazardous material releases into the atmosphere and it impact on civilian and military populations.

HPAC can be run from an E-SMART terminal and the resulting plume overlaid onto the high-level display.

Peer-to-peer communication allows smart devices to relay critical information to any other device(s) anywhere else in the network, independent of the command and control operations, dynamical prioritizing alarm activation for all threats.

In the event that the host computer malfunctions or is rendered inoperable, the sensor network can, and will, continue to function. Data will continue to be gathered and exchanged, and alarm logic, if configured to do so, will operate independent of the host system.

This ability to “push” logic and processing power down to the sensors is a unique offering of the E-SMART network.

The ESMART system is based on the ANSI 709.X protocol, which provides an open architecture for interface of sensors and other devices. The open network architecture supports the connection of sensors and other devices from various manufacturers via wire, radio frequency or fiber optics, with similar interface options for alarming and reporting.

The E-SMART® TA SiteMaster software provides a full spectrum of functionality, allowing Alarm notification and management (by Pager,E-mail, and Fax), Displays (including custom displays if desired) , reporting and graphing, user security, and database storage control. The SiteMaster Software is interoperable with other display systems, including military DISA interoperable, along with common GIS displays such as ArcView.

The E-SMART® TA SiteMaster software is a browser based solution. Whether you are looking for password protected access via the internet or a secure application inside your firewall, SiteMaster will meet your needs. SiteMaster is built on the following technology:

  • Microsoft’s .NET framework
  • SQL Server Relational Database
  • Browser-based, Graphical User Interface
  • Non-proprietary sensor network. Supports wireless, wired, and fiber optic topology
  • Intelligent sensors that can function without the presence of a host computer.
